Veteran MMA fighter Shunichi “Rolling Star” Shimizu with over 60 fights to his credit, including a Bushido FC bantamweight world championship and a UFC appearance, has joined Phoe Thaw’s Team PT and the Fight for Good MMA Team as a fighter and coach.

“Shunichi is a very good coach and student” says Phoe Thaw, the ONE Championship featherweight and founder of Team PT, Myanmar’s first MMA Gym and fight team.
“He is a humble person willing to teach and learn.  He believes in our mission to help the next generation: that together we are champions and a team makes the individual stronger.”

A martial artist since he was 15 learning judo in his native Tokyo, Japan, Shunichi has been living in Yangon, Myanmar expanding his MMA arsenal by training Myanmar traditional boxing (Lethwei), a fast-paced bare knuckle fighting style.
He fought Lethwei Champion Tun Lwin Moe to a five round draw (under traditional rules) in 2018, proving his new skills.
